Terminals
INTEC realized early on that there was a need for engineering capabilities in connection with tanker moorings. Site selection, system design, development of performance specifications and component sizing of marine tanker loading and offloading facilities thus became an integral part of INTEC's capabilities. It has lead to a considerable number of projects, more than 40 since 1988, in which INTEC prepared the design, inspected fabrication of components, and supervised installation.
Initially these involved mainly single point moorings (SPM's), but over the years INTEC has extended its expertise to engineering of spread moorings (CBM's) and fixed berths. This has resulted in a capability for unbiased evaluation of alternate solutions for terminal configurations, and subsequent implementation of the selected choice. INTEC has designed terminals for a wide range of products, 40,000 to 300,000 dwt tankers, 10-inch to 56-inch diameter pipelines and associated onshore storage, pumping and other facilities. INTEC's worldwide tanker terminal project experience and capabilities are unsurpassed.
