Survey and Route Selection
Through experience on projects in various geographic areas, INTECSEA has extensive experience with a wide range of physical and operating conditions for Marine Riser Systems and a considerable amount of information on data and data sources for seabed and oceanographic conditions and resulting design criteria has been compiled. This provides valuable background information for data gathering and survey programs required on each individual project, where work scopes may include geophysical route definition and surveys, geotechnical investigations and actual oceanographic survey work. At this stage correct data interpretation and quality assurance are highly important, particularly with recent multi-beam or swath technology and the resulting large amounts of digital data generated.
INTECSEA has proven capability in developing survey plans, preparing contracting strategies, required technical specifications and bid documents, obtaining and evaluating bids and in making unbiased, informed recommendations.
Third party survey services may then be contracted directly by the Client or subcontracted through INTECSEA with typical goals being to:
- Develop route selection criteria
- Perform onboard real-time bottom roughness analysis
- Supervise the survey field and data processing work
- Assure the quality and quantity of information needed for route selection and design
