Proprietary Software

Proprietary software represents software that has been developed “in-house” by personnel to answer the requirements for various design applications. These programs have been extensively tested and benchmarked against other programs and classical solutions.

SEAFAT

The SEAFAT software is a FORTRAN and C+ program that works in conjunction with a suite of ANSYS macros and a host of ANSYS binary results files to determine cumulative S-N fatigue damage and perform design recipe validation. The program uses both time domain and frequency domain techniques. SEAFAT is used to determine fatigue damage results for a wide variety of welded details commonly found in TLPs, SPARs, and Semis. Spectral analysis methods are used to compute linear fatigue damage.

LCS

Load case selection is performed using an in-house developed load case selection (LCS) that reads ANSYS results files containing static, real, and imaginary data for any number of wave headings and frequencies. The FORTRAN and C+ program steps each wave through the structure for 360 degrees of wave phase, from –180 degrees to 180 degrees, in user-defined increments. For each wave phase, LCS computes the combined stress for each component stress, and the computes the equivalent stress (Von Mises) using the stress components. LCS output is then sorted according to the magnitude of Von Mises stress and cyclic principal stress. The sorted output is used to identify controlling wave conditions, which become critical load cases for design review.

Buckling Stress Analysis

INTECSEA has an in-house developed spreadsheet utility to perform buckling analysis for plates and shells according to various industry codes. Specifically, DNV Classification Note. 30.1 (both plates and shells) is supported along with API Bulletin U2 (for shells).

PWAMIT

PWAMIT is a program used, for the global analysis, for transferring hydrodynamic pressures from WAMIT to ANSYS.

FE_POST

FE_POST is a program employed for post processing global hull structure ANSYS results data for determining the critical load cases by different wave heading, wave height, wave period and phase angle. The program was designed using internal ANSYS parametric code.

ANSYS to WAMIT

ANSYS to WAMIT is a DOS based FORTRAN transfer program, which uses ANSYS models as the geometric model for WAMIT analysis.

FATDAM

FATDAM performs fatigue crack growth simulation analyses for complex engineering components subjected to fatigue loading conditions. This program is specially designed to handle complex loading conditions common in the offshore structural engineering problems. It can handle a wide range of loading and geometric conditions of TLP components, such as pipe, threaded joint, weld toe details, etc. It can handle a combination of six different load cases to cover all possible modes of loading for an offshore structural component.
