Andrew Ngiam

Senior VP, Southeast Asia and Middle East

Andrew Ngiam has over 29 years of experience in operations, engineering, project management, procurement, construction and business development of offshore and onshore oil and gas facilities in Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East. Currently based in Singapore, he is the Senior Vice President for INTECSEA and is responsible for its operations in Asia and Middle East. Andrew works closely with various INTECSEA and WorleyParsons offices for the alignment of INTECSEA’s global hydrocarbons operations.

Before the INTEC and SEA merger in 2008, he was previously WorleyParsons’ global manager responsible for subsea and pipelines and was responsible for the successful start-up and profitable operations of the Subsea & Pipelines Division in Singapore and for nurturing and promoting the development of the subsea & pipelines capability in Melbourne, Perth, Kuala Lumpur, Abu Dhabi, Houston and Lagos. He provided technical and project supports to other WorleyParsons offices.

Prior to joining WorleyParsons, he was previously the Regional Manager, Pipelines & Subsea of Aker Kvaerner Asia Pacific and was responsible for pipeline and operations, subsea technology, and R&D. He transformed the department to become a Centre-of-Excellence of pipeline & subsea technology within the Aker Kvaerner Group. He was also the project sponsor of all pipeline and subsea projects. In his earlier career, he was a subsea and pipeline engineer of R J Brown & Associates (RJBA).

He has worked on a range of interesting projects involving oil, gas and water pipelines including deep water pipelines and associated facility, risers, trenching/backfilling, drilling/blasting, crossings, ocean outfalls, jetty, pipe-in-pipe pipeline, onshore manifolds, gas pigging stations, costing, project management, suspension bridges and PLEM systems in ASEAN countries, India, China, Australia, New Zealand, south Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong and has extensive working relationships with clients, contractors, vendors and government agencies. He has been actively participating in technical seminars and conferences of subsea pipeline technology and promoting research & development in offshore technology with universities and agencies.
